Another couple of articles that I wrote about supporting
programming languages in Eclipse is now available online in
the papers section.
The
first is about the language toolkit (ltk), an API that is included
in the Eclipse Platform and provides the language-neutral framework
for the implementation of automated refactorings.
The
other is about language support in Eclipse in general - and
about the need for language-sensitive code for some of the most
popular features in such an IDE. This second part of this article,
which is an introduction to the Ruby Development Tools
(RDT), was written by Markus Barchfeld.
