It's fashionable to tell everybody what music you are currently listening
to, and I'd like to contribute to that exchange. Here's my current list
of favorites (that's classical music, of course, so it is not in terms of
albums and songs, but in terms of works):
- everything by Francis Poulenc, especially the Organ Concerto
(Concerto in G minor for Organ, Strings and Timpani) and the
Stabat Mater
- Ralph Vaughan Williams, The lark ascending (played by
Hilary Hahn)
- Howard Hanson's Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Youth, and
also his Symphony no. 1 (the 'Nordic')
- Lassus, Infelix Ego
- Richard Strauß's opera Ariadne auf Naxos.
